Privacy policy

We understand that your trust in us is the most important asset of the “Coöperatieve Veiling Roeselare erkende CV” (hereinafter referred to as “REO”, “we” or “us”). Your privacy is therefore of essential importance to us. This Privacy Statement (hereinafter referred to as the “Privacy Statement”) applies, among other things, to (i) our website https://www.preiplus.be (hereinafter the “Website”) and (ii) all (commercial) relationships between REO and its customers, prospects and business partners.

REO wishes to emphasize that it strives at all times to act in accordance with (i) the Belgian Privacy Act of 8 December 1992 on the protection of privacy in relation to the processing of personal data, (ii) the EU Regulation 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (GDPR), and (iii) all current and future Belgian legislation relating to the implementation of this EU Regulation. This Privacy Statement includes, among other things, information about the personal data that REO collects, as well as how REO uses and processes these personal data.

Visiting the Website, purchasing or selling goods, subscribing to the newsletter, or any communication with REO implies your express approval (by providing your personal data or by opting in) of this Privacy Statement and therefore of the way in which we collect, use and process your personal data.

Types of personal data

REO may collect and process the following personal data:

  • Name
  • First name
  • Personal address
  • Email address
  • Telephone number (landline/mobile)
  • Date of birth
  • Company name
  • Customer number (buyer, supplier, producer)
  • Company address
  • Position within the company
  • Billing address
  • Bank account number
  • All personal data contained in the free field of the contact form
  • Any other personal data voluntarily provided to REO (e.g. during correspondence)

REO also automatically collects anonymous information regarding your use of the Website. For example, REO will automatically log which parts of the Website you visit, which web browser you use, from which country you are visiting the Website, and which website you visited before accessing ours. We cannot identify you based on these data, but they allow REO to compile statistics on Website usage.

Method of collecting personal data

These personal data are collected within the context of:

  • A collaboration with REO as a buyer, producer, supplier or business relation
  • Visiting the Website
  • Correspondence with or from REO (e.g. in the context of a purchase or sale)
  • Exchange of business cards
  • Audits or inspections (e.g. certifications)
  • Requesting a quotation
  • Subscribing to the newsletter (via the Website or otherwise)

Use of personal data

REO may use your personal data for the following purposes:

    Communication regarding supply and demand

Disclosure of personal data to third parties

REO will not disclose your personal data to third parties unless it is necessary in the context of selling goods and/or providing services by REO and their optimisation (including but not limited to the delivery of goods and processing of payments). If it is necessary for REO to disclose your personal data to third parties in this context, the relevant third party will be required to use your personal data in accordance with the provisions of this Privacy Statement.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, REO may disclose your personal data:

To the competent authorities (i) when REO is required to do so by law or in the context of judicial or future judicial proceedings, and (ii) to safeguard and defend our rights;
When REO or substantially all of its assets are acquired by a third party, in which case your personal data collected by REO will be one of the transferred assets.

In all other cases, REO will not sell, rent or transfer your personal data to third parties unless (i) it has obtained your consent to do so, and (ii) it has concluded a data processing agreement with the relevant third party, containing the necessary guarantees regarding the confidentiality and GDPR compliance of your personal data.

Storage of personal data

Unless a longer retention period is required or justified (i) by law or (ii) by compliance with another legal obligation, REO retains your personal data only for the period necessary to achieve and fulfil the purposes described in this Privacy Statement under “Use of personal data”.

Security of personal data

REO undertakes to take reasonable physical, technological and organisational precautions to prevent (i) unauthorised access to your personal data and (ii) loss, misuse or alteration of your personal data.

REO will store all collected personal data in its own data centre (within the EU).

Notwithstanding REO’s security policy, the checks it performs and the measures it takes in this regard, an infallible level of security cannot be guaranteed. No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and therefore REO cannot guarantee absolute security in this respect.

Cross-border processing of personal data

Any transfer of personal data outside the European Economic Area (EEA) to a recipient resident or established in a country not covered by an adequacy decision issued by the European Commission shall be governed by the provisions of a data transfer agreement, which shall (i) include the standard contractual clauses set out in the European Commission Decision of 5 February 2010 (Decision 2010/87/EU), or (ii) any other mechanism pursuant to privacy legislation or other regulation relating to the processing of personal data.

Update of the Privacy Statement

REO reserves the right to update this Privacy Statement by posting a new version on the Website. It is therefore strongly recommended to regularly consult the Website and the page displaying the Privacy Statement to ensure that you are aware of any changes. The date of the last modification can be found on the Website and/or in the Privacy Statement.

The Website may contain hyperlinks to other websites. Under no circumstances is REO responsible for the privacy policy or privacy practices of any third party.
